Biography

Professor Faiz Shah is executive director of the Yunus Centre AIT, with faculty affiliation at the School of Management, where he co-directs the Professional Masters in ESG, and the Yunus Masters program. Between 2022 and 2024, as Professor for SE Development & Innovation, he served as Director, Center for Graduate Studies at Albukhary International University, Malaysia. Prof. Shah is founding President of the Yunus Thailand Foundation.
Over 35 years as educator, development professional and entrepreneur, Dr. Shah has worked with governments, the UN, and multinationals, impacting 4,000+ grassroots change-makers across 500+ capacity-building initiatives in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
At Yunus Center AIT, chaired by Professor Yunus, Prof. Shah and his team pursue a vision of enterprise-led development, linking technologies with pro-poor social investments, currently in mobile healthcare, sustainability solutions, and behavior-change communication. As Principal of the Regional Knowledge Hub, Prof. Shah overseas an expanding portfolio of trainings and advisory services focused on enterprise solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He is the author of “Responsible Business Guide: A Toolkit for Winning Companies”, serves as chief editor of the International Journal of Social Business, and chairs the Healthcare Track for the Social Business Academia Conference.
