Biography

Dhrubo Alam, is a transport planner and urban development specialist whose work is central to transforming Dhaka’s public transport system.

An alumnus of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Mr. Alam further specialized his expertise with a Master’s in Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He currently serves as the Deputy Transport Planner at the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), the key government body mandated to coordinate and modernize the capital’s complex urban transit.

Mr. Alam is a leading voice in the national conversation on traffic congestion, public transport reform, and urban planning in Bangladesh. His research and professional focus are dedicated to addressing Dhaka’s notorious mobility challenges, advocating for solutions such as bus route rationalization and the effective integration of sustainable modes like the electric buses.
