Biography
Takuya KIMURA Professor, Graduate School of Human-Environment Studies, Kyushu University; Professor, National Center for University Entrance Examinations (Cross-appointment). Ph.D(Tohoku University). He is an outstanding researcher specializing in educational sociology. He has achieved top-level research accomplishments in Japan in the fields of educational effectiveness measurement, test theory, academic achievement surveys, and university entrance examinations. He serves as the Director of the Social Cluster at the Kyushu University Institute Asian and Oceanian studies. He has received best paper awards and book publishing award from the Japanese Society of Educational Sociology, the Japanese Association for Research on Testing, and the Japanese Association for College and University Education.
He serves as a director of the Japanese Society of Educational Sociology, the Japanese Association for Research on Testing, the Japan Association for Higher Education, and the Japan Society for Educational System and Organization.
