Biography

Dr. Ryota Matsuyama is a lecturer of Veterinary Epidemiology at Rakuno Gakuen University and has more than 10 years of experience in human and animal epidemiology. He is a veterinarian and has been involved in many epidemiological and educational research projects; wildlife disease epidemiology, theoretical epidemiology (mainly infectious diseases on human, wildlife, and livestock animals including fish), observational studies on non-communicable diseases (metabolic diseases of human and productive animals), descriptive epidemiology (e.g., household infection of viral diseases, HIV/AIDS), ecological studies (human papillomavirus), intervention on health education (human anemia, education on nurse students), and meta-analysis. Also, he has been interested in public awareness activities and education to enhance knowledge and change behavior in human and animal health. In this diversity, all his works are connected by four keywords: “data analysis”, “interaction with people”, “health protection/promotion”, and “evaluation of the intervention effectiveness”. Following the problem-centered approach, the goal of his activity is to solve the high-priority issues in one health.
