Biography

Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam is a distinguished expert in climate change and health research, consultancy, and program management. Holding a PhD in Climate Change and Health from Griffith University, Australia, Dr. Islam has led and contributed to numerous national and international projects focused on health vulnerability, adaptation planning, WASH, and environmental health.

Dr. Islam has served as Principal Investigator or Team Leader in over a dozen climate-focused studies, including Bangladesh’s Health Vulnerability and Adaptation Assessments and the development of climate-informed hospital emergency preparedness plans.

Dr Islam is the Board Member of the Pacific Basin Consortium for Environment and Health
and the Life member of Public Health Association of Bangladesh, and the Founder and Board of Trustee Member of Faith Bangladesh, He served as the President of the Society of Bangladeshi Doctors in Queensland Inc (SBDQ) and as EC Member of Federation of Bangladesh Medical Societies Australia (FBMSA).
