Biography

Sylvana Quader Sinha is a founder, investor, and the CEO of Praava Health — Bangladesh’s 1st first and only one stop shop click-and-brick outpatient healthcare system, established with the mission of democratizing high-quality medical treatment in emerging and growth markets. She’s a widely-recognized authority on identifying and building resilient market-opening businesses in economies and sectors where potential has yet to be unlocked. Today, Praava serves more than half a million patients, bringing international standards and many quality healthcare firsts to Bangladesh. It is the nation’s fastest-growing healthcare brand, on the cusp of further expansion. Praava provides a clear model for improving healthcare for billions of people in emerging markets. It sparked a new market for consumer services and an entire ecosystem around it. The Praava Health model has been widely studied at Harvard and Columbia Business Schools. It has also been highlighted in studies funded by the Gates Foundation as a model example of next gen inclusive, innovative and sustainable healthcare companies playing a critical role in addressing the rising burden of chronic diseases in lower middle income countries and possibly the world. Praava is also part of the World Economic Forum innovators’ community, first as a Technology Pioneer in 2021 and now as a Global Innovator. With Praava an important beacon for healthcare startups, Sinha has become an authority on the realities of building successful businesses in emerging markets. She is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the WEF’s UHC2030 Private Sector Constituency, and serves on the board of PATH.org. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, Columbia Law School, and Harvard’s Kennedy School. She is also a member of Wellesley’s Business Leadership Council.
